On Tuesday Ryan and I had another check up on Baby Buck. I am officially 17 weeks and 2 days along and feeling great! I always seem to get slightly nervous before a checkup. Its a weird feeling knowing that there is a baby growing inside of me and not really knowing if baby is doing alright. I am not yet feeling any movement but hopefully with in the next week or two I should be. But if my placenta is in the front of my uterus I may not feel movement. We won't find out where my placenta is located until our 20 week ultrasound. Baby is doing well though! The heart beat was a strong 160 beats per minute again and even got to hear the baby kick a few times. I can't help but have the biggest smile as soon as I hear the heart beat! Such an awesome feeling knowing that there is a life growing inside of me. My blood pressure is sitting normal and I've put on another couple pounds since our last appointment. Since I'm incredibly short waisted and short in height there is no hiding this baby bump. God blessed me with boobs, hips and long legs for a short person, but literally no waist. Even my doctor said there is no room for this baby to go but out! 9 months will be interesting!
Ryan and I had our first prenatal class on Tuesday night. It was a nice review on nutrition and early stages of pregnancy but mainly information on stuff I already knew or have already read about. I am still continuing with my crossfit workouts and surprise myself at how I'm improving with movement on certain lifts even while being pregnant. Humidity is not fun to work out in, I feel extra slow and sluggish but I still manage to keep moving. I feel best when Im active and moving. Im so thankful that Im able to continuing doing what I love for workouts. Work however is starting to become a struggle. As a dental hygienist leaning over patients all day is causing a lot of pain in my low back, pelvis and hips. My body changing and all the ligaments that are stretching don't help in this matter. Im also experiencing round ligament pain in my belly from all of the ligaments stretching there. I order a belly brace that is supposed to support your belly and low back so I'm hoping that wearing that at work will help. It doesn't matter how much I stretch or foam roll, my posture at work seems to be my biggest struggle with pain.
I had the week of the Fourth of July off from work and it was the most glorious week ever! Ryan and I celebrated the holiday with some friends at their cabin on July 3rd and enjoyed fireworks that night on the lake. July fourth we took in the Vasa parade and then had a BBQ with my family. It was nice to just hang out, relax and play with our nephew Jack, plus eat all the yummy food! Later that week we celebrated our nephew Owen's first birthday and we celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. We went to Stillwater and ate dinner at one of our favorite restaurants called LoLos.
I also took the week to get organized. I cleaned out our closet, along with a few others and ventured into the guest bedroom/hoarding room that will become the nursery. A few trips to target to buy rubbermaid bins, a trip to Goodwill to donate all kinds of stuff and we are one step closer to the nursery. We will be painting the nursery, putting in hardwood floors and of course buying baby furniture. We did buy our first piece of furniture, a nice chair and ottoman that glides and swivels. I'll be doing a couple posts on the baby's nursery as it comes together. In just a few short weeks we will be having our 20 week ultrasound along with our 20 week checkup. Please say some prayers for us and baby that all looks well and that baby is developing right on track. Ryan and I chose to forgo any genetic testing that they offer. We are excited to see our little baby and pray that he or she is healthy! Crazy to think we are just a few weeks away from the half way mark. This pregnancy is really starting to fly by along with the month of July already. We hope all of you had a fabulous fourth ofJuly with your loved ones! Stay tuned!
